Food for the Soul

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Recently when a close one offered donation to our Foundation, Shalini asked them to become our partners instead. Partnering with the Foundation means committing assistance to support on-going or new outreach programs on a regular basis. They replied that they did not want to get into a long-term commitment, though she explained to them what benefits the partnership could bring to them as well as the Foundation. Later they agreed and said yes to it.

However, a thought crossed my mind as to why some people did not want to partner with whereas some readily partnered the Foundation. I wasn’t still satisfied in my heart. I prayed to God as to how should we tell people to partner with us willingly and the answer I got was a Revelation!
As human beings we are committed to our body, and that’s a life-long commitment but fulfilled every day through meals, exercise and many other activities. For us it is that important! If we do not do so, imagine what kind of health we would have. The commitment to share and to give is actually the food or investment for the Soul. When we do not commit food in long-term for our soul, what happens? The Soul is not fed regularly and you can easily visualize frail, weak souls moving all around.

Long term commitment of giving brings health to your soul and it gets strengthened in God. So when adversities try to beat you down, even though you had long term commitment with your body it does not help. It is only the strong soul that can withstand and outdo your trials, and make you win, not your body. To realize God a strong soul is required, and if you want that, feed it regularly by sharing what you have with others, in long-term!- Vinay Mehta

How faith works?

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Today while I was counselling someone in the morning, I got revealed by God why some people’s faith works and others don’t. You see, when our prayers get answered, our faith keeps increasing and we say that yes God is working for us. But when we keep praying and do not get any results, we wonder where our faith is getting diluted.

I realized this because people come to me and ask me to pray for them and their family. When I encourage them to pray on their own so that they can build their personal relationship with God, they would tell me that our faith does not work. I would wonder that when God is no respecter of persons then why their faith does not work, where their faith is getting diluted.

Today morning I got this revealed to me by God that our faith works when we are obedient to God by loving people. All that God wants from us is to love one another as He loves us. Now what is love? There are many people who I see around me saying that they love me and they love my child but then when I see their actions, it tells me a completely opposite story. Like for example there is this lady who always tells me that my daughter is special for her and that she loves her. But few days back my daughter was down with severe cough and she burnt dry leaves that spread thick smoke all around my house and it became suffocating for all of us especially for my daughter. But on telling her that this was creating discomfort for us she told me that we have to adjust.

When we do not treat people right by our actions we actually don’t love them, we are just providing lip service to them. This does not impress God at all. And that is when our faith also does not work. I was like this for many many years before I came in relationship with God. I did not treat Vinay with respect but told everyone that we had a love marriage and we love each other a lot. Now on one hand I was trying to make Vinay pay for all the men who had not treated me right and on the other hand saying that I loved him. I did not actually love him. Then how could my faith work?

So the next time when we see our faith not working, we need to look into ourselves and check who we are not treating right. – Shalini Mehta

GOD's CHILD FOUNDATION

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Welcome to God’s Child Foundation’s Blog!

The Foundation was started with a motive to outreach every single person with hope and confidence through the Word of God. To spread the message that we are a child of the most High God and how with God we can have a peaceful and abundant life that God has reserved for each one of us. Seeing anxiety, hopelessness and fear in the society and the individuals of today irrespective of age, sex, and social status, there is a dire need in our society to know that God is our only savior. God has a good life for each one of us, God wants only good for us, He is our best friend and He is our only provider.

The basic principle of the Foundation is to genuinely help persons and institutions and spread the joy to live life confidently rather than satisfy the need for funds, fame or status in the society.

We do not represent any religion, caste, creed, sect, community, etc. but One God. We use the revelations that God gives us in our day to day living supporting them with the scriptures like the Bhagvad Gita, the Bible, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Ramayana, the Quran and Sri Kathamrita as our basis for spreading His hope and confidence.

We also publish a magazine twice a year by the name NUPUR (New Understanding of Pure Universal Revelations) through which we share our personal experiences with God, how we live our God ordained life by building a deep intimate personal relationship with Him and encourage people how they can also do the same in their own life, and feel God’s all-time presence, bring abundance and blessings upon them.
